MOTHER'S DAY "PEACE OF THE PIE" VISITS TO CONGRESSMEN'S
OFFICE.  WE DELIVERED AN APPLE PIE TO ALL OF THE CONGRESSMEN IN OKLAHOMA TO SYMBOLIZE THE NEED TO CREATE A DEPT. OF PEACE WHICH WOULD USE ONLY 1 -- 2 % OF THE DEPT. OF DEFENSE BUDGET TO CREATE A DEPARTMENT WHOSE PRIMARY JOB WOULD BE PEACE AND NONVIOLENCE.

HISTORY OF LEGISLATION TO CREATE A 
DEPARTMENT OF PEACE
1935, 1937, AND 1939, Senator Meely, D. of West Virginia introduced bills calling for a Department of peace.

1943 Senator Wiley, R. of Wisconsin spoke on the Senate floor calling for the U.S. to be the first government of the world to have a Department of peace.

1945 Representative Ludow of Indiana introduced a bill that would establish a Department of Peace.

1947 Representative Dirkson R. of Illinois introduced a bill for "A Peace Division in the State Department."

1955--1968 Eighty--five bills calling for a Department of Peace were introduced in the House or the Senate.

1969 Senator Vance Hatke, D. of Indiana and Rep. Halpern of New York introduced legislation to create a Department of Peace.

2001 and 2003 Rep. Kucinich D. of Ohio introduced legislation to create a Department of Peace.

2005 Rep. Kucinich, D. and Sen. Dayton, D. of Minnesota introduced legislation to create a Department of Peace in the House and Senate.

The Goal of The Declaration of Peace
The Declaration of Peace seeks a comprehensive plan for an end to the U.S. occupation of Iraq, including

> An end to all funding for U.S. militarily operations in Iraq.
> Safe and rapid withdrawal of all U.S. troops and coalition forces from Iraq, with on future redeployments.
> No permanent U.S. military bases or installations in Iraq.
> Support for an Iraqi-lid Peace process, including a Peace conference to shape a post-occupation transition.
> Return control of Iraqi oil to the people of Iraq, as well as complete sovereignty in their economic and political affairs.
> No war against Iran or any other nation.
